Who We Are

Faith Protestant Reformed Church was organized on February 22, 1973 with nineteen families. Our congregation currently has 108 families with a total membership of over 425 souls.

We belong to the Federation of Protestant Reformed Churches in America, a denomination of 33 churches and more than 8,200 members. We were founded as a denomination of Reformed churches in 1924 and can trace our roots historically and doctrinally to the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century in Europe. We follow the 3 historic Reformed creeds, also known as the Three Forms of Unity: the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession, and the Canons of Dordt. We believe these creeds accurately and faithfully summarize the teachings of Scripture.

What We Believe

Scripture

The Bible is the written Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and without error (II Timothy 3:16). In the Bible, God teaches us about Himself and our salvation in His Son, Jesus Christ.

Trinity

God is a Triune God, three Persons in one Being: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).

God's Sovereignty

God is sovereign over all things. His all-powerful rule extends over the entire universe (Isaiah 46:10). No creature or event is outside of His eternal plan. He works all things according to His own counsel to the praise of His own glory (Exodus 20:11).

Holiness

God is perfectly holy and righteous (Revelation 4:8-11). He created Adam and Eve, our first parents, to reflect His holiness, but they rebelled against God and as a result died spiritually. As descendants of Adam, all mankind is guilty and worthy of God’s wrath (I Corinthians 15:21-22).

Mercy

But God is a God of mercy and love, and has sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for all the sins of His people (Ephesians 1:4-5). The Son of God was incarnated into our human flesh, born of a virgin, lived in perfect obedience to God, His Father, and suffered the eternal wrath of God on the cross for all His people (Galatians 1:3-4). Jesus rose from the dead and now rules at God’s right hand (Acts 2:32-33).

Covenant

God is sovereign in this work of salvation (Romans 8:28-30). We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). The Holy Spirit regenerates our spiritually dead hearts and we are given faith to believe the promises of the gospel (John 3:1-8). Through the means of grace, chiefly the preaching of His Word, we grow in a life of holiness, turning away from sin, and serving God in thankfulness (I Corinthians 1:17-25). Through Christ, God has established an eternal covenant between Himself and His elect church. In this covenant, established and maintained by His sovereign grace alone, God loves us as friends, takes us into His own Family, and joins us to Christ so that we are heirs of eternal life (I John 3:1-2).

Particular Grace

God’s love is particular; He effectually works His salvation only in his elect people (Romans 9:6-16). He does not offer the gospel to everyone for them to accept or reject at will. Rather, He saves those and only those whom He has chosen in Christ before the world was created (Ephesians 2:1-9).

Eternal Judgment

Jesus is coming again to judge the living and the dead, and to gather all His people to Himself (II Timothy 4:5). Those who believe in Him will dwell with Him in heavenly glory, but those who do not know God and obey not the gospel of Jesus Christ, will suffer God’s eternal wrath in hell (Revelation 20:11-15).
